Purpose of the Compulsory Workshop
  • To provide participants with a clear understanding of the 2021-2029 USA Gymnastics Women’s Development Compulsory Program: concepts, compulsory exercises, the interpretation of the text, and technical execution of the skills.
  • To enhance the knowledge of the teachers, coaches, and judges, enabling them to effectively and professionally serve in the development of the young gymnasts engaged in the USA Gymnastics Women’s Development Program.
  • To provide an opportunity for coaches to earn W311 University credit.
  • To provide an opportunity for judges to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) clinic credits.
    • Judges will receive 20 CPE Clinic credits for attending the Live National Master Compulsory workshop. In order to receive 20 Clinic credits for the Live Stream version of the Master Compulsory, the individual judge MUST register under his/her own name.

Method of Instruction
  • "Active Participation": "Walk through" parts of the routines for all levels of Balance Beam and Floor Exercise. In general, the group participation on the floor will be limited in time in order to cover all the material. Registrants will be expected to define if they plan to actively participate in the floor and beam sections, or if they plan to observe from a seated area. This will help the Master Presenters in the planning process.
  • "Lecture Demonstration": For all levels of Vaulting, Uneven Bars, Flexibility and Conditioning
  • “Livestream”: The camera will capture all events taking place from the Reno workshop. Livestream registrants will not be able to ask questions, but will have access to review the recording for up to 7 days post event.
The Master Compulsory Workshops will be scheduled differently than past years. Groups will rotate through events according to a session-like designated schedule, with different start and end times for each event.
  • Group designations will be communicated the week of each in person workshop.
  • Group reservations CANNOT be guaranteed.

Master Staff
The Women’s Development Program Committee members will be presenting the new 2021-2029 Compulsory exercises.

COVID protocols
  • THE USE OF FACIAL COVERINGS AND 6 FOOT SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE REQUIRED AT EACH WORKSHOP LOCATION.
  • USA Gymnastics will follow all state and local guidelines as it relates to COVID-19 restrictions at each workshop location. USAG’s medical team is in the process of finalizing protocols for these events that go above and beyond the state and local guidelines. The protocol will include many countermeasures before, during and after the event to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. These protocols will be shared with attendees when they are finalized. There is no way to completely eliminate the risk of transmission and we ask each attendee to assess the risk for themselves and to participating in-person if you feel that it is not safe for you to do so.
