COVID-19 Protocol

All coaches, parents, athletes are asked to carefully review the below protocol prior to a decision to attend the event. Registration for and attendance at this event signifies that you agree to follow all COVID-19 protocol.

  • Highlights of COVID-19 Protocol
    • All attendees (including athletes*, coaches, parents, staff, and others) will be required to wear a 3-ply cloth mask or surgical mask.
    • *Athletes are required to wear face coverings at all times except during performance of gymnastics routines or warm-up. This means athletes must wear an approved face covering during stretching and ballet, but are not required to wear it while warming up routines or competing.
    • All athletes aged 13 and above will be required to provide proof of a negative antigen, PCR, or molecular COVID-19 test from within 7 days of the day they compete, sent by the coach with other results from the club to kkranz@usagym.org 2-4 days before the athletes’ day of competition.
    • A vaccine card cannot be used as a replacement for a negative test result. If anyone has tested positive for COVID-19 and recovered in the past 90 days proof of this positive test result may be presented instead of the proof of a negative test.
    • All participants and attendees must maintain 6 feet of physical distancing from anyone not in their cohort, at all times. Cohorts are defined as those living in the same household, or athletes, coaches, and/or officials who train and work in the same gym on a regular basis.

Eligibility
Open to all level 9 Junior and Hopes* age athletes.

Additionally, open to all senior national team members as an invitational.

*Note: Level 9 Seniors for the year 2021 will compete in a combined Senior Level 9 Classic/Elite Qualifier in May of 2021. All Level 9 and 10 Senior swill compete together to advance the top 25 to the USA Gymnastics Championships.



Competition Format
Apparatus
  • Junior/Hopes – Hoop, Clubs, Ribbon (3 APPARATUS ONLY)
  • Senior National Team - 1-4 apparatus for RGI by choice, 1-2 routines for RGG by choice/li>
Competition Structure
  • Level 9 Junior/Hopes will compete 3 events in one day to make compliance with Michigan COVID-19 testing requirements possible. Awards for 3 events and all-around will be presented after the final session of each age group.
  • Regional Team awards will be given here for level 9 Junior. The top 6 Junior All Around scores, pulled from all gymnasts in each region, will count toward the regional team scores. Gymnasts whose scores contributed to the team score will be awarded as the regional team. These results will be announced at the end of the level 9 competition, however, a regional team awards ceremony with athletes included will not be held. Trophies will be mailed after the event.


Qualification Opportunities
  • Top 40 Juniors advance to the Elite Qualifier. All 40 Junior Level 9s who advance to the Elite Qualifier become Level 10s.
  • USA Gymnastics Championships Qualification
    • 55 Level 9 Juniors (beyond those who qualify to the Elite Qualifier/Level 10)

$160 per gymnast

Music/Headshots/D Forms
Electronic music files will be used for this competition. Upload deadline: April 2, 2021. Music and headshots for each gymnast should be uploaded to the KSIS website.

Difficulty forms will NOT be used for this competition.

Refunds
If a program event or camp is cancelled by USA Gymnastics, participants will receive a 100% refund on entry fees paid if the event is cancelled more than 60 days from the start of the event. If the event is cancelled by USA Gymnastics 60 days or less from the event, the participants will receive a 50% refund on the entry fees paid. If an athlete withdrawals from the event due to an injury or any other reason more than 60 days from the event, she/he may receive a 100% refund on her/his entry fee. If the athlete withdrawals within 60 days of the event, no refund will be given. For a refund request falling within these guidelines, contact jvincent@usagym.org.
