2019 Rhythmic Open Camp
Nov. 15-19, 2019 – Lake Placid, N.Y.
Levels 5-10; Beginner – FIG Group; Xcel B-D

NOTE: Olympic Training Center lodging is FULL. Additional participants are welcome to register with lodging at a hotel. The registration price through Meet Reservations now includes the CAMP ONLY. Meal plans are available for those staying at the hotel for $120 for the duration of the camp (dinner 11/15 to breakfast 11/19). Contact to arrange meal plans.

Camp Objectives
  • The theme for our 2019 Open Camp is “Looking Ahead” (a first glimpse at the 2021 Code of Points, which will reach final form in November 2019).
  • This camp will focus on basic body and apparatus technique while looking at how those principles can be applied to the new COP.
  • All US rhythmic athletes, coaches, and judges have an opportunity to experience the rhythmic training facilities at the US Olympic Training Center
  • All US rhythmic athletes, coaches, and judges have an opportunity to work with national staff
  • Celebrate and enjoy Rhythmic Gymnastics in the USA!
  • Individual and group gymnasts welcome! This camp is an excellent development opportunity for all.
Travel Airport - Albany (ALB)

Arrival - November 15
  • Flights must arrive in ALB by 6:00pm for OTC transportation.
  • Participants providing their own transportation may check into the OTC after 3:00pm.
Departure - November 19:
  • Flights must depart at 12pm or later for OTC transportation.
  • OTC check-out is 9am
Transportation - Coaches/Athletes requesting transportation between the Albany Airport and OTC should use group processing to register for “2019 Open Camp Transportation”:

The OTC will do their best to accommodate flights that meet the guidelines below. In the case that they cannot accommodate, the transportation fee will be refunded.

Note: In the case of a flight delay when participants are scheduled for OTC transportation, it is the parent/club’s responsibility to provide Safe Sport compliant transportation from the airport to the OTC. USA Gymnastics will work with the OTC to accommodate the delayed participants on a later shuttle if possible or, in the case of a minor delay, may postpone the shuttle’s departure, however, this cannot be guaranteed nor expected. USA Gymnastics is not responsible for delayed flights that cause participants to arrive after shuttle departure times. Full responsibility for the participants’ transportation to/from camp falls on the parents/club.

OTC check-in time for those providing their own transportation is 3:00pm or later.

Discounts Club Discounts Available
  • Clubs with 5-9 athletes attending receive a $100 coach discount
  • Clubs with 10 or more athletes in attendance will receive 1 complimentary coach registration

Additional Info
  • All athletes must participate with a coach from their club
  • Athletes will be placed in training groups at the discretion of USA Gymnastics and the camp staff. (Placement with specific teammates cannot be guaranteed.)
  • Coaches are welcome to register and participate, even if they do not have an athlete from their club in attendance.
  • Judges are welcome to register and participate for CPE Credits (see details below)
  • All athlete, coaches, and judges must be current USA Gymnastics Athlete/Professional Members for the 2019-2020 season.
  • Waivers
    • Both athletes and coaches must submit an OTC waiver form. This form will be emailed out directly from the OTC prior to the event. It will come from an “assuresign” email address. If you have already submitted an OTC waiver this year, you will not need to do this again.
    • Additionally, this Athlete Participation Agreement must be filled out and returned to by October 6th for each participating athlete.
What to Bring
  • Athletes: All apparatus; fitted training attire, water bottle
  • Coaches: notebooks, video camera if desired, water bottle/re-usable mug
  • All: Toiletries, layered clothing, warm coat
