Employment Opportunity - Head Coach - Men's Resident Team Program

Position Summary
The position of Head Coach for the Men's Resident Team Program at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center (USOPTC) in Colorado Springs is a full-time coaching position. The USOPTC Resident Program Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the USOPTC Resident Team Program including athlete development, health and wellness, training and competition. The Resident Program Head Coach will be under the direct supervision of the Men's High Performance Director.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the USOPTC Resident Team Program including program development, athlete development, long-term planning, day-to-day workout plans and competition plans
  • Be responsible for the Resident Team Program and resident athlete compliance with all USOPC and USAG policies and regulations for the USOPTC Resident Program
  • Attend camps and competitions domestically and internationally as required or assigned
  • Assist with educational aspects of the Men's Program as needed or assigned
  • Serve as an educational outreach resource to coaches and athletes for the Men's Program at National Team camps, development camps and educational workshops or seminars hosted at the USOPTC.
  • Maintain a complete working knowledge of men's FIG rules.
  • Consistent communication with USOPC Sports Performance and Athletic Training staff as well as USAG medical staff
  • Promote the initiatives and achieve milestones set in the Men's High Performance Plan
Requirements and Competencies
  • Must have a strong coaching background including work at the elite levels of coaching and/or elite international competitive experience
  • Active coaching which can include spotting, moving mats and setting up or adjusting gymnastics equipment
  • Working knowledge of all facets and levels of the USA Gymnastics Men's Program including knowledge of the men's FIG rules
  • Strong leadership, motivational, collaborative and communication skills
  • Able to effectively use video skill capture and analysis systems
  • Experience managing teams
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience working at the elite levels of coaching
  • Collegiate level and/or elite international competitive experience
Other Information
  • This position often requires work in the evenings and on weekends
  • Domestic and international travel is expected and required
  • Position is based in Colorado Springs, CO
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience
