Summary Description
The Director of Finance is responsible for the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of QuickBooks and Great Plains, budgets, maintaining the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results accurately reflects the organization’s financial activity. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Prepare specialized monthly reporting
  • Conduct financial analysis
  • Supervise annual audit with external auditors
  • Prepare tax return workpapers
  • Prepare annual budget and update cash forecasting
  • Create department financial reports and variances from the budget and report to leadership
  • Verify compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Participate in USOPC NGB Financial conference calls
  • Manage special projects as directed by CFO and COS

Requirements and Competencies

  • Expert in QuickBooks and knowledge of Great Plains
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with all functional units of an organization
  • Cultural and global awareness
  • Self-starter who will take initiative with new projects
  • Ability to proactively problem solve
  • Experience in preparing annual budgets and budget management
  • Ability to identify cost savings, analyze return on investments and provide recommendations
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
  • Ability to work as part of a team effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present to executives
  • Incorporate safety, accountability, integrity, transparency and listening into daily activities

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience, nonprofit experience preferred

  • Position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana
