Summary Description
The Chief of Staff plans and directs all administrative, operational, and efficiency activities for the CEO. This position will organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the CEO to facilitate efficient decision making. They will provide oversight and guidance to projects of high importance and will act as an advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team. The Chief of Staff will have an immediate impact on efficiencies, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and communicating objectives between departments. This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as an adviser to the CEO and senior management team
  • Serve as liaison between staff, executives, senior leaders, and CEO regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning
  • Oversee daily operations through collaboration with senior management and department leaders, performing an array of administrative tasks from managing calendars, generating correspondence, maintaining hard copy and electronic files, planning and coordinating key meetings
  • Build and develop relationships with employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness and help define new operational strategies
  • Work with CEO and other executives on special and ad hoc projects
  • Collaborate with human resources department to address and resolve high-level employee relations issues and needs
  • Oversee specific strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and departmental heads
  • Assist and communicate with leaders in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Review, design, and execute on improvements to organizational structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them
  • Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
  • Provide oversight by working across multiple departments to develop feasibility analysis, planning and potential build of the Athlete Training and Wellness Center
  • Additional duties as assigned by the CEO

Requirements and Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to senior executives, employees, and other audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with all functional units of an organization
  • Cultural and global awareness
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Extremely versatile, results-driven and dedicated to efficient productivity
  • Experience planning, leading strategic initiatives and proven success in a project management
  • Experience with data analysis and budget management
  • Critical thinker with a focus on developing creative solutions
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s Degree in Business Administration preferred
  • 5+ years of executive-level experience

Other Information

  • Position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Salary and benefits commensurate with experience
  • Weekend work and some travel will be required
