USA’s Bower takes seventh at Stuttgart's all-around World Cup

STUTTGART, Germany, March 20, 2017 – Allan Bower of Mesa, Ariz./University of Oklahoma, finished seventh in the International Gymnastics Federation’s all-around World Cup in Stuttgart, Germany. The Ukraine’s Oleg Verniaiev won the men’s title. In the women’s competition, the USA’s Morgan Hurd of Middletown, Del./First State Gymnastics, took home the women’s all-around bronze medal.

Bower posted an all-around score of 81.699 for seventh. Verniaiev, who was second at the recent AT&T American Cup in Newark, N.J., clinched the men’s title with an 84.899. Japan’s Kazuma Kaya was second at 84.398, followed by China’s Sun Wei at 82.898.

Bower’s individual event scores were: floor exercise, 13.900 (third best score); pommel horse, 13.333; still rings, 13.833 (third best score); vault, 14.333 (third best score); parallel bars, 14.000; and horizontal bar, 12.300.
