National
Athlete of the Week
Emily Tobin - Baylor
Tobin, a junior top and tumbler from Templeton, Calif., earned NCATA Athlete of the Week honor for the second time this season following top-ranked Baylor's win over East Texas Baptist last week. Tobin competed in 12 heats and team event for the Bears against ETBU, recording a score of 9.50 or higher in 10 of those heats. Her performance was highlighted by a perfect 10.0 in the synchronized pyramid and four scores of 9.90 in the compulsory toss, five-element acro, inversion pyramid and six-element tumbling pass.

Specialist of the Week
Bayley Humphrey - Baylor
Humphrey, a sophomore base from Chandler, Ariz., helped Baylor post a pair of 10.0 scores in the pyramid event. The perfect scores came in the synchronized and open pyramid heats. During the two heats, Humphrey served as the solo mid-base. The synchronized heat requires a hand-to-foot connection, while the open pyramid included a hand-to-hand connection.

Freshman of the Week
Paige Delman, Hawaii Pacific
Delman, a freshman base and tumbler from Boulder, Colo., competed in 10 heats and team event for Hawaii Pacific last week. Her performance was highlighted by a perfect score in the compulsory pyramid and a 9.95 in the compulsory toss. She also helped HPU to a 9.90 in the open pyramid and a 9.80 in the inversion pyramid. In all, Delman helped the Sharks post six scores of 9.50 or higher.

Athlete of the Week
Navah Marierose - Frostburg State
Marierose, a sophomore base/tumbler from Odenton, Md., helped Frostburg State earn a 258.340-118.175 win over Stevenson last week. She competed in 12 events helping Frostburg State to team high scores in compulsory and the team events. She was helped Frostburg State score over 9.2 in six heats, including a 9.65 in compulsory pyramid, and 9.40 in compulsory toss. In the Acro Event, she helped FSU to scores of 9.35 in five-element and 9.70 in seven-element. In the Pyramid Event, the Bobcats had scores of 9.25 (out of 9.80) and 9.45 (out of 9.80).



Conference Carolinas
Athlete of the Week
Claire Guittard - King
A senior back base/tumbler from Connelly Springs, North Carolina, Guittard did a little bit of everything from base to tumble in No. 10 King's 254.740-109.750 conference road victory at Chowan on Saturday, Feb. 19. She competed in 13 heats. Guittard excelled in the pyramid and toss events as the Tornado scored 9.55/10, 9.40/9.80 and 9.85/10.00 for a pyramid total of 28.80, which is the highest for the Tornado this season so far. She followed that by helping toss heats 2 and 3 to excellent scores. Guittard was a base as the Tornado were nearly perfect in heat 3, scoring 9.30/9.40.
