Athlete of the Week
Ceara Gray - Baylor
Gray, a senior base from Birmingham, Ala., competed in nine heats and team event to help lead Baylor to its second win of the season against East Texas Baptist last week. Gray helped Baylor to seven scores of 9.50 or higher during the meet, including a perfect-10 in open pyramid, and a pair of 9.90's in the compulsory toss and inversion pyramid. Gray was also in compulsory acro and compulsory pyramid, as Baylor scored a 9.70 in each heat.

Specialist of the Week
Karah Naples - Fairmont State
Naples, a senior top and tumbler from Woodbridge, Va., excelled in the pyramid event during Fairmont State's season-opening victory over West Liberty. Naples helped Fairmont State garner its first perfect score of the season with a 10.0 in the open pyramid, and also competed in Fairmont's inversion pyramid that scored a 9.70. In the open pyramid, Naples competed as a top and executed an extended handstand sweep to L-sit pyramid.

Freshman of the Week
Hannah Alonzo - Azusa Pacific
Alonzo, a freshman base from San Antonio, Texas, competed in 10 total heats to help APU earn its first win of the season against Arizona Christian last week. Alonzo competed in six heats that scored a 9.50 or higher during the meet, including a 9.90 in the inversion pyramid, a 9.80 in compulsory toss, and a 9.70 in the 450 Salto Toss. Alonzo competed in at least two heats in four different events for the Cougars (compulsory, acro, pyramid, and toss).
