Sam Zakutney - Penn State
Earned the all-around title at the West Point Open last weekend with an 81.000 score
Posted first-place finishes in the floor exercise (14.550), parallel bars (14.000) and high bar (13.800)
Helped the No. 8 Nittany Lions win their sixth straight West Point Open team title
Collects his third career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award and first of the season

Freshman of the Week
Michael Fletcher - Illinois
Won the all-around title (80.050) and tied for first on the high bar (13.500) in his debut outing for No. 3 Illinois last week against UIC
Registered third-place finishes on the pommel horse (13.100) and vault (14.400) and took fourth in the floor exercise (13.250)
Earns his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Gymnast of the Week
Cole Cassanova – Army
Cassanova earns 2019 first Gymnast of the week honors after posting three career highs. At the West Point Open he tied his personal best all-around score with an 80.05. Helping him achieve that mark were career highs on the pommel horse with a 13.5 and the rings with a score of 13.8. Cassanova place second in the meet at vault with a score of 14.0 and his all-around score also placed him in second at the meet.

Specialist of the Week
David Toussaint - Navy
Toussaint, last year’s ECAC Rookie of the Year started his sophomore campaign off strong. At the West Point Open on day one he placed fifth on the floor exercise, pommel horse and vault. His performances helped the Midshipmen finish second in the team portion of the meet. The next day in the event finals he improved his standings in all three events. He placed tied for third for his floor exercise score of 12.9, second on pommel horse with a 12.95 and fourth at vault with a 13.95.

Rookie of the Week
Matthew Davis – Army
Davis got his collegiate debut off with an excellent showing. He finished the West Point Open sixth in the all-around with a score of 76.2, making him the top freshman competitor. He would place second on the floor exercise in the qualifiers and finals with scores of 14.3 and 13.85. Davis also finished third on the high bar with a score of 12.65.

Gymnast of the Week
Grant Breckenridge - Stanford
Stanford senior Grant Breckenridge (Libertyville, IL) guided the Cardinal to a 411.250-392.350 opening-weekend win at the Cal Benefit Cup (Jan. 12)– the top score for Division I this past week. Breckenridge placed first in the parallel bars (14.650)-the final rotation-as well as the all-around (80.750). He would also add fourth-place finishes in the vault and still rings. The individual titles in parallel bars and all-around were the first of Breckenridge's career in those events (fifth and sixth titles overall). This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Breckenridge.
