The School of Business is for club owners and program administrators. The school of business helps individuals develop strong leadership skills, problem-solving techniques, and positive program development capabilities.
There are four different certificate programs. Each certificate addresses various business issues, according to the experience one has and the degree of knowledge one desires.
The certificate programs are progressive and one must complete one certificate level prior to moving to the next. Coursework for the next certificate program can be pursued at any time.
Administrator
The Administrator Certification offers a great foundation for training front office staff, current or prospective gym managers. This certification does not require any previous business experience.Course Requirements:
Manager
The Manager Certification provides a bit more depth in its required courses. One must have some experience as an entry-level manager and/or program director in order to fulfill the course requirements for this certification.Course Requirements:
- You must be Administrator Certified
- U101: Safety & Risk Management
- B201: Business Foundations 2
- And One (1) Elective chosen from School of Recreational gymnastics or School of Business course list

Director
The Director Certification provides individuals with the skills necessary to thrive in a competitive business environment. One must have moderate experience in business leadership positions and have completed the Manager Certification in order to be a candidate for this certification. Course Requirements:
- You must be Administrator AND Manager Certified
- B301: Business Foundations 3
- B302: Business Foundations 4
- U301: Stewards of Children
Executive
The Executive Certification provides one with thorough training in business systems, strategies, marketing, and pricing. This certification is ideal for experienced program directors, those who are seeking to be a gym owner, and/or those currently operating as a gym owner. Course Requirements:
- You must be Administrator, Manager AND Director Certified
- B401: Business Foundations 5
- B402: Business Foundations 6
- B410: USA Gymnastics Business Forum
- U302: Recognizing and Responding
- And one (1) elective chosen from the following courses:

General requirements for University Admission
The certificate program can be achieved by completing designated "core" course work and school specific courses. Courses and other requirements vary depending on the school of study and the specific certificate program.
Regardless of what area of study one chooses, everyone within the university must:
- Successfully complete U100: Fundamentals Of Gymnastics Instruction Course (online)
- Be a current USA Gymnastics Member (Professional, Junior Professional, Instructor, Athlete).
- Be responsible for knowing the course requirements for the certificate program they are pursuing. (While course requirements can and will change for different certificate programs, those who have already received their certificate will maintain as active/current.)
- Admission to multiple schools within the university is permitted.
- Course requirements are subject to change at any time.
- Designated purchased technical material, and free downloads are eligible for credit as of 8/1/2011. Proper paperwork for credit must be submitted to USA Gymnastics.
- Coaches with previous USA Gymnastics education and vast practical experience can apply for pre-placement in the university. (Deadline 7/31/14)
